Adventures in Learning

Adventures in Learning classes are taught on various subjects by knowledgeable volunteer instructors. Classes meet on Thursdays for six weeks. There is a Fall Session and a Winter/Spring Session with events/trips planned throughout the year.

Sessions are led by class instructors who themselves are retired older adults or community experts who bring their special interests and backgrounds.

Subjects cover a varied assortment of topics: computer and technology, finance, literature, creative writing, cultural appreciation, religion, “how-to,” current events, historical events and figures, foreign languages, and much more.

Community service projects are an important part of each Session. Giving back and working to make our community a better place to live is paramount to our senior living.

At a Shepherd's Center you will:

·      Meet new and interesting people while enlarging your interests and horizons

·      Opportunities to volunteer

·      Explore new skills and develop new interests

·      Opportunities to develop new strategies on how to handle change

·      Make new connections in the community and enrich established friendships

·      Stay socially, mentally and physically engaged with peers

·      Have fun!

“Shepherd’s Center is not something to ‘hear’ about, you have to experience it!”
